Thoughts for the Week of 1/25/10

Posted on January 25, 2010 under Thoughts for the Week.

Sales Reminders 444, 445, 446, etc.

  • if beauty is only skin deep, that’s a decent place to start
  • HARD WORK BEATS TALENT, WHEN TALENT DOESN’T WORK HARD
  • think BIG; you can make a difference
  • for every call, always have a list of 15-20 good questions ‘up your sleeve’
  • try to ask questions your client has never been asked before
  • watch less TV
  • unless you have all the answers, surround yourself with people who do
  • the happiest people don’t always have the best of everything; they make the best of everything

Final Thoughts

“Standards of excellence are not chiseled in stone. They are constantly being redefined. It’s important to recognize that what was graded excellent last year may not be so this year. That is why we must keep mastering new skills.”
Bobb Biehl

“Carve your names on hearts, not on marble.”
Charles Spurgeon

“I will speak ill of no man, and speak all the good I know of everybody.”
Benjamin Franklin

Have a great week, do something that makes a difference, and whatever you do, do it passionately: passion is the differentiator, passion changes those around you, passion creates unlimited possibilities.

Thoughts for the week of 1/18/10

Posted on January 18, 2010 under Thoughts for the Week.

Sales Reminders 601, 602, 603, etc.

  • Prioritization is the key to your sales success; do the unpleasant tasks first
  • Trust your guy and always move forward; today’s mistake can be tomorrow’s opportunity.
  • If you’re not having fun, you’re not doing it right
  • People follow people, not plans; are you worth following?

Final Thoughts

“Big people monopolize the listening.  Small people monopolize the talking.”
– David Schwartz

“When you do the things you have to do when you have to do them, the day will come when you can do the things you want to do when you want to do them.”
– Zig Ziglar

“Encouragement is oxygen to the soul.”
– George Adams

Pay it forward, remember that all of us like to feel special … so this week, do what you can to sincerely compliment others, and one final thought as you get yourself psyched up to make a difference this week: attitudes determine actions. You are not what you think you are. What you think, you are.

Thoughts for the Weekend

Posted on January 11, 2010 under Thoughts for the Week.

Sales Reminders 201, 202, 203, etc.

  • Sales goals keep you focused on your yearly strategy … otherwise, you’re lost. Think Christopher Columbus – when he left Spain, he didn’t know where he was going; while he was in the new world, he didn’t know where he was; and when he got home, he didn’t know where he had been (not a good strategy for a professional sales person).
  • Pain is inevitable, but suffering optional. Give yourself permission to live and to learn.
  • Push yourself; only you can motivate you.
  • All play and no work does not work, but when you work hard, you earn the right to play.

Final Throughts

“Whatever you do today, do it better tomorrow.”
– Robert Schuller

“Your life begins to change when you change something you do everyday.”

– John Maxwell

“Remember the names of the people you meet. You will make a great second impression.”
– John Maxwell

Make it a great week, do the right thing, pay it forward, and a word from every one’s favorite printer: “we are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.” – Benjamin Franklin
