Thought for the Week

Posted on September 12, 2010 under Thoughts for the Week.

Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.  It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed.  Every morning a lion wakes up.  It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death.  It doesn’t matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle……..when the sun comes up, you better be running.

Thoughts on selling better today than yesterday:  307-316

  • Focus on one task at a time.
  • Always give more than you get.
  • Be open to new ideas.
  • Don’t ever hesitate to ask for help.
  • Don’t become comfortable; be willing to function outside your comfort zone.
  • Sales is like banking.  You have to make the deposits before you can participate in the withdrawals.
  • Don’t smoke.
  • Move fast.
  • Believe in yourself; if you don’t, who will.
  • Final Thoughts

There is a big difference between a satisfied customer and a loyal customer.

Always  be thinking about what you can do to create an experience that exceeds your customers expectations.  Some days it might just be the right attitude; other days a little extra effort on your part.

There is a great little (less than 60 pages) book out there entitled  The Loyal Customer – A Lesson From A Cab Driver by Shep Hyken.  If you ever have days that you feel that you’re stuck selling a commodity and there is no way you can differentiate youself from the competition, this is a great wake up call.

Do good, reach out, make a difference, pay it forward  and don’t forget:  confidence is contagious.
